 At Delaware Certified Hoopers, our coaching staff represents experience, structure, and a commitment to elite player development. Our program is built on a foundation of proven leadership across the Nike Jr. EYBL and NXTPRO Puma Circuits, supported by coaches with high school, collegiate, national, and professional experience.From former NCAA athletes and national champions to veteran high school coaches and long-time youth program directors, our staff brings decades of combined experience in player development and team building.

Since 2019.

Desmond has been helping local rec and travel basketball programs since 2005, I bring several years of coaching experience to the program. In 2012 i started my own chapter of East Coast Elite [ECE] in Sussex County, my goal was to give kids life changing experiences and to help them get into college. in 2015 i transitioned into high school coaching. in 2021 i joined the DCH program coaching staff, i enjoy developing young men and women 0n and off the court.

 Jordin has dedicated her life to the field of sport.  A standout scholar-athlete in Pennsylvania high school sports, Jordin scored over 2,600 points ranking her top 25 all time in PA scoring history. She then took her talents to St. Francis University of PA where she was a freshman starter on the 1999-2000 NEC Championship team, earning her all NEC All-Rookie Team honors and a 14th seed in the 2000 NCAA Tournament.  After two years at St. Francis, Jordin finished her basketball and academic career at Indiana University of PA where she earned a BA in Business Management and an MS in Sport Administration.  Her professional career in collegiate recreation began in 2005 when she spent 4 years at Temple University learning the ropes and then came to Delaware State University in 2009 where she has been able to build a leading HBCU campus rec program that prepares and consistently places students in career positions across the country within sport. She views her current position as Executive Director of Wellness & Recreation as a true blessing and privilege that provides her the opportunity to use sport as a way to prepare students for success in life.   The opportunity to coach with the DCH program goes right in line with this philosophy of impacting youth through sport - Jordin is thrilled to be able to teach the game of basketball and build a strong foundation that will set our athletes up for success on and off the court.  Jordin lives with her husband Curtis and three sons, Tarrance, Braylon and Prestin in Dover, Delaware.

Coaching Outlook


Teaching fundaments the right way, sharing the ball and putting players in a position to be successful. Team basketball is the way it has to be. Defense is a must.

 Jonathan Duncan serves as the Program Director of Delaware Certified Hoopers and Head Coach of the 14U Nike Jr. EYBL team. Since 2019, he has led the growth and structure of DCH into a nationally competitive program built on development, discipline, and opportunity.Coach Duncan’s philosophy centers on teaching the game the right way — emphasizing fundamentals, defensive identity, accountability, and team basketball. Under his leadership, DCH has expanded its presence onto the Nike Jr. EYBL and NXTPRO Puma Circuits, providing athletes with elite national exposure while maintaining a strong developmental foundation.
As Program Director, he oversees organizational structure, staff development, player advancement, and long-term program vision. His commitment extends beyond basketball — focusing on mentoring young men and women to become disciplined leaders on and off the court.
Coach Duncan believes that success is built daily through preparation, consistency, and high standards.

 Coach Quinn Stephen enters his first season as a full-time Head Coach with Delaware Certified Hoopers, leading our 13U team on the Nike Jr. EYBL circuit.

While this marks his first year as a head coach within the program, Coach Quinn brings valuable experience from serving as an assistant coach with multiple AAU organizations. Those years allowed him to study player development, team structure, and game management at the grassroots level.

Now stepping into a leadership role, Coach Quinn is focused on:

• Teaching fundamentals the right way

• Building strong team chemistry

• Developing confidence and basketball IQ

• Preparing players for the next stage of competition

His energy, commitment to growth, and willingness to lead make him a strong fit for the DCH standard. Coach Quinn embraces the responsibility of guiding young athletes on one of the biggest stages in grassroots basketball — Nike Jr. EYBL.

This season marks the beginning of his leadership chapter within the DCH program.

Coach Carl Ballard

13U Assistant Coach | Nike Jr. EYBL

Coach Carl Ballard enters his second season with Delaware Certified Hoopers and transitions into the Assistant Coach role after serving as the 13U Head Coach last season.

His leadership helped lay the foundation for the team’s continued development and growth within the program. Coach Carl brings experience from the middle school level, currently coaching at Postlethwait Middle School for the past two years and previously at Fifer Middle School.

With strong roots in teaching and player development, he emphasizes:

• Fundamentals and defensive discipline

• Accountability and structure

• Skill development at the youth level

• Building confidence in young athletes

Coach Carl’s continued presence on staff ensures continuity, stability, and mentorship within the 13U program as DCH competes on the Nike Jr. EYBL stage.

Coach Aniah Patterson begins her first season with Delaware Certified Hoopers as the Head Coach of our 13U Girls team — marking the launch of the first girls team in DCH program history. A former NCAA Division II student-athlete at Chowan University on a full athletic scholarship, Coach Patterson understands firsthand what it takes to compete at the collegiate level. Her playing career built a foundation of discipline, leadership, and high basketball IQ that she now brings into her coaching philosophy.

Coach Patterson is passionate about developing confident, skilled, and disciplined young women both on and off the court. She emphasizes fundamentals, basketball IQ, accountability, and building a competitive mindset that prepares players for long-term success.
As DCH plans to expands into the NXTPRO circuit on the girls side next season, Coach Patterson’s leadership sets the tone for the future of the program’s female athletes.
Her mission is clear: build a strong foundation, develop complete players, and establish a lasting standard for girls basketball within Delaware Certified Hoopers.

 Chree Duncan serves as the Chief Financial Officer of Delaware Certified Hoopers and has been a foundational part of the organization since 2019.As CFO, she oversees financial planning, budgeting, operational logistics, and organizational compliance, ensuring the program runs with integrity, structure, and sustainability. Her leadership provides the framework that allows DCH to compete nationally on the Nike Jr. EYBL and NXTPRO Puma Circuits while maintaining responsible financial management for families.
Beyond her executive role, Chree is affectionately known as the program’s “Team Mom.” She plays a vital role in supporting players and families, helping foster a culture built on trust, communication, and accountability.
Her ability to balance structure with compassion strengthens the foundation of Delaware Certified Hoopers both on and off the court.
Since 2019, she has helped ensure that DCH operates not just as a team — but as an organization.
